Be Cautious When Mixing a Flu Shot With Other Vaccines
Dr. Sears, a pediatrician, wrote an article warning about the dangers of mixing flu shots with other vaccines. He has put aside the vaccine debate and is not advocating for or against anything, rather he is asking people to be cautious because there has not been any clinical tests done to conclude that this is safe. Flumist, the live-virus nasal spray, is the only exception, however the clinical trial was only conducted with infants and the flu shot was only mixed with the chicken pox and MMR vaccines. This is important to note because infants cannot be tested for several developmental disorders. If you plan to get a flu vaccine for your child, he advises to wait a month to get their other scheduled vaccines. Seems like a no-brainer to me.
