Hi.  My name is Lisa.

I started blogging in 2008.  At that time, I was a stay-at- home mom with a baby and a toddler.  There were many things that concerned me about the care and well-being of children.  I reached out through blogging to connect with other parents to share information on issues like BPA in plastics and vaccines.  I loved the camaraderie and enjoyed exchanging information with intelligent, thoughtful people.

A year later I started graduate school in pursuit of becoming an LPC.  My blog fell to the wayside, left to gather tumbleweeds.

I am back.

My focus is still the same.  I am passionate about the care and well-being of children.  That will never change.  I am also passionate about healthy living, vegetarian cooking and baking with whole foods, living green, writing, yoga, and running.

I am a vegetarian and have been for 19 years.  I do not cook with a lot of dairy or eggs and recently started experimenting with vegan baking.  I have been active in the kitchen most of my life.  My Greek father was a restaurant owner, as his father was.  My maternal grandparents owned a bakery and I owned a coffee shop in Scottsdale in my mid 20s.  We always ate healthy, home cooked meals when I was a kid.  We do the same in our home and many things are made from scratch.

Currently, I am a counseling intern and I work with abused children and their families.  They inspire me with their wisdom, strength, and courage each day.

My husband and I have been together since 1999 and we have two lovely boys, Christian age 6 and Roman age 3.  My blog documents our journey to live a simpler, healthy, happy, meaningful life.

Thank you for stopping by.

Peace and Love,
